Update 1: Poison Ivy Cosplay

13.7.16

Hi everyone! I know it's been a couple months since I've updated on my life but here I am! hello. Hi. how is it going? Well I hope. There are just under two months until Fan expo in Toronto, and I've decided to blog my progress on my cosplay which will be the beautiful, suave Poison Ivy! There were several other costumes I was going to make but COSPLAY IS EXPENSIVE. I know this, you know this, but yet everytime I think of a great character to dress up as, I get all excited, start planning and realize that I won't be able to afford it... my dream is shattered into a million sharp, expensive pieces around me. But alas, I decided upon poison ivy. I had most of the bigger pieces already in my closet (corset) and a hair extension/ wig store near my work were having a massive sale on everything- so I got the wig for dirt cheap. It was perfect timing.

So below is some of the progress I have made on my poison ivy cosplay. Its taken me about 20+ hours but only $50-$60 for all of it. Shop smart ;)

I'll be taking a progress picture soon in my costume but my coset isn't working for me right now. I hot glued the ivy on but forgot that the corset stretches when I put it on.. the ivy popped off in some places. I'm trying to figure out what to do! *sigh*

here are some arm cuffs/ bracelets I made with some wire, ivy and floral tape!

and here are the ivy garlands I made as well for the back of my corset. I'm making a train! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me!

OOTD: Orange is the new black

5.5.16

Help, my keyboard is being held captive by a cute and furry feline. But don't actually help because this guy is adorable. Look at him:

ARTEMIS!

What a cute little ragdoll.

let's continue on with this post though which has everything to do with my new OOTD. It is a comfy, cool for the summer, orange romper from www.tobi.com (50% off for new customers fyi)
I'm usually not a huge fan of rompers as I find some can make me look shapeless and like I'm wearing a robe, but I am really digging this one. From the rustic orange to the flared sleeves and a cute buttoned up neck line, I feel like I could be a 70's hippie with too much glitter.

You can purchase the romper here: http://www.tobi.com/product/61891-tobi-front-and-center-bell-sleeve-romper?color_id=89198

I paid it with my brown fake leather booties and some jewlery I purchased from my home town in St. Catharines called Willow Den.

Thursday May 5th, 2016: Moon, Prism, Power

Good morning people awake at 9:00 am in the morning on a Thursday. How are you? I hope awake and well. I am currently eating a bagel and a banana. Thrilling life, I know.
If you follow me on instagram @silkenskin, you'll know I promised pictures of my new kitten on this post... but I don't have the pictures edited, and or the pictures even with me.. soo.. that puts a hole in that plan.

Here is a new outfit C/O Tobi!
you can follow them on their instagram here as well:
@shoptobi

Shoes: Primark
Dress: Tobi
Purse: Samantha Vega

Can we all just appreciate this purse???
I know I am. And this dress!
I love the crochet details at the waist. I always find it the most flattering when there's waist detailing and helps me create more of an hourglass shape. I also have to add that the back is to die for. I love anything with a low back (it also help remind me that I have tattoos back there too) It makes me feel slinky. You can also play around with the strings in the back- I decided to just halter it, but there are other options to criss and cross the strings :)
>> new customers at Tobi get 50% off your first purchase- just a helpful tip to my readers

Thanks to Jack for the pictures (and the purse..lol)

Wednesday May 4th, 2016: OOTD and tiny update

4.5.16

Hi Everyone! I haven't updated this place in awhile. Sorry about that! I have gone through so many changes the past couple of months, it's been insane.

Quick Update* I have officially moved in with my boyfriend, Jack, as of last week. And as of this past Sunday we have a furr baby named Artemis who is a wonderful, adorable ball of rag doll.
I am also lucky enough that Jack is skilled in the area of photography, so I'll never have to go too long without posting some beautiful photos of my life (C/O of him of course.. and some taken by me.. but the ones today are by him haha)

I wanted to update this blog with a new outfit post! So low and behold, this beautiful top C/O Tobi.com! The thing I adore about this top is the fact that it's actually a bodysuit which makes it perfect for high waisted pants and skirts- I don't have to worry about tucking in my top all time, or worry that it's less than perfect. The straps are also adjustable which saves me because I'm a little more narrow around my collar bone and shoulders.
It's honestly a great piece for the office, and going out for after work drinks- the perfect cocktail top.

Top: Tobi
Skirt: Forever 21

Thanks Jack for the pics ;)
Also while taking these pictures, someone came up to me and asked how much I can lift with my legs. It's a lot ok? I have strong thighs. I have accepted this fact. :')
